January 2010

We spent New Year's Day transporting Sundance to her new forever home with her new friends, Day-Z and Hunter.  Thanks Zoë and Gary!

Shortly after that, we helped Homer, a homing pigeon who could not home, find his forever home with a flock of pigeon's at Ricky's house.  Thanks Ricky!

Then, our very own Machu travelled to his new home with SciWorks as part of their South American exhibit.  Be sure to stop by and say hi when you're in the area!

The day after, Nina and Leda went home to Meg and her wonderful family, who had a cavy palace waiting for them on arrival!

February 2010

The first weekend in February, Comet and Meteor found another home!  Thanks Doug and family for offering these boys a second chance and for their really awesome cage!

After that, tiny little Kris (now Parsley) found his forever home with Mehrunissa and her two boars, Ariel and Apple.

The same day that Kris met his family, Frazier met his new roomate Rocky and his new dad Joe!  He enjoyed some delicious and delectable greenery and got his very own house!

We were proud, afterwards, to help Amelia find her forever home.  At 5 years old, she was an unlikely adoption prospect, but she found a retirement friend with Sophie at her new home with Allison and Ed (who make amazing wooden houses for their piggies with their names etched into the front!)

Billie Jean also found her forever home with Springer the giant boar in his free range castle.  Sue and Bob, who are kindly allowed to live with Springer, were so excited for him to have a friend again after the passing of his spouse a few months ago.  Springer is once again zipping around and eating with gusto thanks to Billie!

March 2010

March started off with the wonderful adoption of Gerty and Diamond.  The girls were met with excitement and started their new life off with a delicious salad!  Thanks Tracy!

Their adoption was followed by the adoption of Viola and Alyssum, two tiny rats, to befriend an older rat, Nermal who had lost her partner.  The introduction was tempestuous, with the older and more reserved Nermal taking offense at the tiny interloper, but their new mom Mary reports that they are working out well together now!  Thank you Mary!

It was a very ratty month as then Elmer and Toby were both adopted!  The older gentlemen used their charms on their new mom Jenn, and swiftly moved into her house to slug around and nap under the dressers when they should be exercising.  Thank you Jenn!

Following Elmer and Toby's adoption, Russell and Royce (two of the first litter of babies born in 2010) were adopted by their new mom Sharon to be companions to her elderly boar, Woody (who is a much travelled and respectable gentleman).  Thanks Sharon!

Then an adoption of tiny proportions took place!  Belladonna and Amaranth (who had been in foster for nearly a year) found their forever home with their new mom Erin, who surprised them with a variety of delicious treats and goodies when they came home.  Thanks Erin!

Carnelian went home to be a friend to the lovely Ebony, who had recently lost her beloved Ivory.  Introductions went smooth and they were snoozing together later that week.  Thanks Lauryn!

March was rounded out by the adoption of three baby girl rats by Mike and family in Raleigh.  Thansk Mike!

April 2010

Coconut the dog was adopted on April 2nd by Cheryl and family!

Jack was so jealous, he decided to go home the same weekend with his new mom, Kathy!

And if Coconut and Jack were going to do it, Sloan was too!  She went home the very next weekend with new dad Jonathan.

Morrigan, Persia, and Mischa, three of our longest rat fosters, went home with their lovely mom Penny (who also runs the amazing Pig Pals of NC -- helping potbellied pigs!)

King's foster mom decided she couldn't live without him and adopted him outright.

And baby Petal found her new friend with Amanda and James' guinea pig, Lucy.

Duncan and Bryony also found their forever home with Shannon and Deborah.  They arrived to a plush new C&C pad!

Their homecoming was followed up by the adoption of Lucas and Liam!

Then Winnie and Leo (our oldest bunny fosters) went home to their new mom Anne!  (Who loves them, even though Leo made an awful face.)

Gloria (now Zoe) was adopted as a companion to our beloved Amelia (adopted earlier this year) who lost her friend Sophie after a protracted battle with pnuemonia.

May 2010

Ryder the puppy went to his new home with his mom Beth!

Munkustrap went home with repeat adopter Frone (who is awaiting his brother, Bustopher, as he recovers from neuter surgery).

June 2010

Roxanne, Isadora, and Kassidy went home to live with Litia and her family!

Our two cuddle bunnies, Charlemagne and Fauntleroy, went to live with Jill and her horde of spoiled cats as well!  (And immediately managed to make a jail break -- bunnies are smart!)

Beatrice and Hero found their forever home with Cindy and family.  These two girls were found tied up into a Walmart bag!

And then Mr. Puffnstuff (now Walter) went to live with a lonely young pig named Rupert, who popcorned with so much joy we were afraid he'd hurt himself!

Finally, Melissa adopted Rum Tum Tugger, Pouncival, and Wyoming from our baby rat pile!

June went home to her forever family shortly afterwards!

The month of June was closed out by the adoption of Wanda as a friend for Nunchuk, and Bustopher Jones, the rat, going to his forever mom, Frone!

July 2010

Carbucketty and Macavity went to live with their new forever mom, Kai!

Ethan the baby piggie went to live with his new big brother, Friday, and his parents, Cindy and Tony out by the beach!

His homecoming was followed up by Lenny and Carl finding their forever home with their new family and a giant C&C cage!
